Getting up-to-date

Hello Friends!! We are currently working on getting up-to-date with these posts after I've had some hectic things going on to slow me down...

One of the first things missed was Harlow's due date on June 25th. My husband and I got tattoos in her memory the evening before.. of course with our fair share of YELLOW... and then had a nice quiet day in our home just sharing some down time with each other as we honored her memory and let off a paper lantern given to us by my angel mommy penpal Annie (off of the support group on facebook I started called Heartwood for angel mommy's only)! As we let it go and watched the fire glow... it was beautiful to see our love to heaven being seen from afar!

Thrown into the mix were some health issues that slowed me down but I quickly recovered (or at least tried to) just in time to run in the 10K "Race for grief" with was on June 30th!! It was for pregnancy and infant loss and I was in attendance with my friends Paul and Kelsi Tate! And of course I can't forget to mention our "Team Harlow" t-shirts Kesli and I sported!! Although I have never competed in running or ran in any sporting events before... I trained for only 2 weeks (then got sick for one) and made it out alive!! It was a great accomplishment and I even met one of my fellow angel Mommy's (Gail) at the race!!

Other than that it has just kind of been life that's been slowing things down but we're getting back on track this week with the blogging!! So let's see what our friends have been up too...

These bracelets say "Yellow Monday 4*2*12" and are available for a $4 donation fee!
-please contact me if you'd like more info-

Look what our friends have been up to!!!

it is SO beautiful to see our angels being honored by so many!!
(An extra THANK YOU to those of you who never let a Monday go by without showing your YELLOW PRIDE!!! It means the world to us all!! -and for those of you who incorporate our angel(s) into YOUR special days!!!)

I thought I'd share a peek at my husband and the 2 little ladies I married into... honoring their sissy by bringing her to the fourth of july fireworks!! :) WE LOVED THE YELLOW ONES!!!

Bringing some sunshine into your life

Angel Mom's have been through a lot and often carry the weight of their journey on their shoulders. It may be out in the open (like mine when I blog) or hidden (like I try to do while working) but... it's there. Wearing your Yellow on Monday's can truly lift their spirit, when they know what you're wearing it for!! So don't be afraid to inform someone who is an angel mom about our Yellow Monday's Project! I know that when I walk into work on Monday and some of the girls I work with are wearing their yellow... my heart smiles!!

I also find that wearing Yellow and honoring my sweet girl brings a little sunshine to my life as I start my week. Monday's are no longer the worst day of the week to me!! I hope that others will share this project and try it out... make your angels proud!!

This guy even jumps in! -I keep seeing a butterfly just like this in our yard, and then on my run the other day!

SO I have decided to do a 10K race (just over 6 miles) and I'm really excited about it. I am not a great runner, and I am kind of slow, but I love to feel healthy and in shape. This is my kick to start eating clean and working out again... I think that grief can really weigh you down so it's important to NOT forget about your health and your pride in yourself. This race is called the Race For Grief. It is for pregnancy and infant loss and is just 5 days after Harlow's due date!! Truly a difficult month for me, but I have started feeling a little more "alive" as I've been taking care of myself and running. There is no doubt in my mind that she will be with me!! I am excited to say that my employers will be sponsoring me & we're having t-shirts made in YELLOW of course!!! and then I went on the races fb page and what do you know... their t-shirts this year are yellow!! Could it be any more perfect?! I mean really!! I am so excited and I hope that being sick this week wont slow my training down too much!

I am so proud of what Yellow Monday’s is becoming to so many… I have had many angel moms ask to join in, many people who love angel mom’s join in, and perfect strangers who have learned of our story wanting to join in. This is such a beautiful thing, so THANK YOU to those of you who continue YELLOW MONDAY’S as often as you can, and don’t dare forget to honor our angels!! It means more than you realize!
SHOW YOUR YELLOW PRIDE

PLEASE KEEP EDUCATING AND SHARING THIS BLOG!

For this YM post –which is a bit late due to our craziness in moving on any down time we have- I’d like to share some quotes I have found to be beautiful in many ways… take them as you wish…

Some day's are harder than other's to take these types of quotes into your heart as an angel mom and you just want to say "screw you!" BUT the truth is... you angel mommy's are beautiful!! What you hold in your heart for your missed children is absolutely amazing, and the grief actually shows how much you do love them! Be proud of that. And know that there are many people to lean on.
WE ARE HERE! and together, WE WILL BE OK!

Why Yellow Mondays?

This blog has been started in memory of my daughter, Harlow. On Monday, April 2, 2012 my world was forever changed. Heaven and earth collided and my husband and I were blessed with our beautiful little girl, a true angel (stillborn at 28 wks gestation). She was to be our sunshine in all the rain in our lives… so it was no surprise that after being bathed the nurses brought her back to us in a sweet little yellow crocheted gown. It was perfect. She was perfect. And as we were able to have her in our arms and by our side for hours, we learned a deeper love. The hurt that was felt as we walked away from that hospital with empty arms was like nothing anyone should ever experience. Shortly after I started wearing yellow every Monday, for her. My family started to catch on and then others in my life started to catch on and have been joining in! It was an amazing feeling, to see she had touched so many lives already. I then realized that “Yellow Monday’s” were not just for my sweet little girl, but for all the children lost too soon. My goal in starting this blog is to reach out to as many people in this country/world as we can… to share our story, to help families of angels, to touch lives, and to remember all the babies that we miss so much! They are the true light in our lives, the light that keeps us going during our darkest moments. Please share this blog and tell others about Yellow Monday’s, and maybe they’ll join in and wear yellow as well!!

*Yellow Monday's aren't just for friends and family either... we'd love to see it shared in the work place and get more people involved!*
If you do, email your yellow Monday picture to me at heartwoodproject@yahoo.com and I will try to post them on here as soon as I can! LETS REMEMBER OUR ANGELS, LETS MAKE THEM PROUD!
